ANHAM and King Hussein Cancer Center Partner for Charity Golf Tournament

Engaging the communities in which we live and work is a key part of our success at ANHAM. Recently, we had the chance to support the King Hussein Comprehensive Cancer Care & Research Center through our charity golf tournament. The King Hussein Cancer Foundation and its affiliated Cancer Care and Research Center have long been at the forefront of cancer treatment in the Middle East. As the efforts of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation have continued to grow, it has been ANHAM’s privilege to support the center for over a decade.

Now in its second year, the charity golf event brought over 80 guests from 24 different countries together to fight cancer. While the main tournament was the focus of the event, there was also a Par 3 event and on-course events like closest to pin, long drive, and Beat the Pro with all the proceeds going to charity. With so many events and enthusiastic participants, the event raised a total of $274,000, almost $100K more than last year.

“ANHAM’s commitment to the KHCF first started over 10 years ago, beginning with individual contributions from ANHAMs’ founders. In 2016, ANHAM’s leadership team decided to make a more substantial fundraising effort to support the KHCF and decided that the opening of Jordan’s first championship golf course at Ayla presented the ideal opportunity,” said ANHAM President, Gaven Jones. “Given that last year was the first time hosting an event like this in Jordan we kept our fundraising expectations low but through the generosity of our partners and vendors we exceeded our initial goal of $50,000. This year efforts exceeded all expectations with over $274,000 raised.”

President Gaven Jones, CFO Marwan Belbesi, Director of Operations, Mark Webster, and Director of Procurement, Mike Hoover, all recently had the opportunity to visit the King Hussein Comprehensive Cancer Care & Research Center and see ANHAM’s impact firsthand (read more about their visit here). The King Hussein Cancer Foundation is undertaking tremendous work and the team at ANHAM is honored to play a small role in that endeavor.
